Situated on Dupplin Estate this cottage was used prior to the war as a mill. Only the lade (canal on the other side of the front fence) where the water wheel used to be situated and two walls remain of the old mill. The cottage was used after the war to house the ghillie but was abandoned for many years until we started restoring it to what it is today.
The interior of the cottage is bright and stylishly furnished with an open plan kitchen/living area with underfloor heating. The open plan area comprises a well equipped kitchen with integrated appliances, comfortable dining for 6 people and additional seating in the glass extension to catch the morning sun with a coffee from the Nespresso machine. The living area has comfortable seating, a flat screen TV and a well-stocked wood burning stove.
The bedrooms are both ensuite. The large master bedroom has a king sized bed with views into the woodlands. The master bathroom comprises a roll top bath with heritage fittings. The second bedroom offers comfy twin beds with an ensuite shower room. A door from the twin bedroom leads onto the patio with a café style table and chairs. All beds are made up with crisp Egyptian cotton sheets. Luxurious towels are provided along with bathrobes and indulgent products from Scottish Fine soaps.
A separate outhouse is provided as a perfect wet kit boot room. There is a stainless steel sink, washing machine, tumble drier and overhead pulley for drying clothes.
In addition to two laid lawn areas to the front of the cottage are two separate decking areas for al fresco dining and BBQ’s. Deck chairs are also provided to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
